Skanska has a website that includes many different pages and targets multiple audiences – partners, customers, suppliers, and job seekers. The homepage features a wide range of content, ranging from careers to products such as asphalt and concrete. Therefore, there is a significant need to meet the visitor and direct them to the relevant section as clearly as possible, without creating unnecessarily long click paths. To achieve this, they have implemented rek.ai.

One of the goals was to improve the user experience of the website. Ongoing web surveys are conducted to gather visitor feedback, and one recurring response was the difficulty in finding the right content. Mid Sweden University's website, with over 18,000 pages, is aimed at both current and future students, researchers, employees, and other visitors. One major challenge they have struggled with is the user-friendliness of the "cluttered" website, as the annual user survey often indicates how difficult it is to find information. Another problem was to get students and employees to read the publications in the news feed, and displaying articles that are relevant to the visitor – not just the latest ones. In surveys, visitors have also requested the ability to highlight information that is relevant "right now" more clearly, making it easier to find.

Using AI and a new menu structure, Mid Sweden University aimed to make it easier for visitors to quickly find and read relevant information among the large number of published articles.

</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">The municipality uses adaptive search word suggestions to enhance the user experience in the internal search function and guides visitors by suggesting search words when the visitor begins to write in the search field. The AI model knows which page the user has visited when the search is made and also knows which pages most visitors are usually heading to from that point. E-services hosted by OpenE have been indexed and added to the search word suggestions.</span>

<h3>Background</h3>
On the Emmaboda Municipality website, a significant number of questions are answered every day. Topic-wide information ranging from school year details to how to get a building permit is found on the same site. This means the website has to address the needs of a ten-year-old just as much as those of a pensioner, and none of them visits the page for purposes other than finding that specific information. It thus has become important to better assist the visitor in navigating this wide range of content to find the answer to each particular query more efficiently.

Before the collaboration with Rek.ai, an untenable amount of time was spent internally at the municipality updating entry pages manually by guessing what the visitors would expect and want. The vision for the AI solution was to be able to automatically narrow down to even more topic-relevant information for the user on emmaboda.se while saving working hours internally.
<h3>Solution</h3>
Rek.ai allowed the municipality to insert a module into their Sitevision CMS system to automatically adapt relevant information to the visitor on selected web pages. The Rek.ai AI module collects data on the visitor's browser´s geographic location, search history, at what time of day the visit was done and from which type of device. All collected data is anonymised and can’t be traced to any specific user.

Emmaboda municipality could easily choose pages to recommend relevant content for the visitor. More “Quick find"-buttons were placed on the entry page to help the user get to the correct part of the site. The website search function will be integrated with the AI module to provide “autocomplete suggestions” based on the visitor's needs. As the E-service "My pages" is implemented, it will also be connected to the search engine.

The ever more relevant and up-to-date information being presented has also contributed to an enhanced user experience. By using the many shortcuts shown on the starting page, the user can easily navigate and access the information they are looking for.</h3>
Going forward, Emmaboda Municipality looks forward to upcoming reporting functions from Rek.ai to present an even better accuracy, using statistics on what the users want to adapt the website further.

Advania was and had been, for some time, in need of a user-friendly intranet made for their employees. Although the previous system contained a lot of information, the structure made it feel more like a portal than an intranet, with no easy navigation and inefficient search capabilities. Finding correct information was not easy. The collaboration with Rek.ai began in January 2021 - an exciting project where Advania, as a tech company, had a positive approach to integrating AI technology into its digital solutions.
<h3>Vision</h3>
Advania wanted the new intranet to be a place where employees could easily search for information, take part in a newsfeed, and, based on the department they’re working in, along with their work title, get personal recommendations of content. The goal was to offer a natural, digital workplace where information that simplifies the work-life easily could be found.

The purpose of the intranet was also to minimise the number of emails sent and to ease the administration of HR and the service desk. Advania also wanted to improve cross-sales and support the onboarding process of new employees.
<h3>Solution</h3>
AI blocks such as quick find, related content, and related news now assist employees in finding the information they need. The intranet is user-friendly, easy to navigate and with a search function. Based on interest and work title, the relevant information is presented. Since it is an online solution, most employees automatically access the intranet when opening their browsers to quickly gain an overview of news and information.

Reactions to the new intranet have been positive. Many employees find it easier to navigate the information they’re looking for. Emails regarding administrations for HR and the service desk have decreased just like Adania wished for, and new colleagues mention a great difference from previous workplaces. Advania's internal goal was to have 80% of employees log in to the new intranet within six months. This goal was achieved shortly after the intranet went live.
